The Public Timber Project

About Us

The Public Timber Project is a grassroots, boots-on-the-ground movement dedicated to the future of public lands and duck hunting in Arkansas and across the region. In our first year of service, we have organized over 100 boat ramp cleanups and hands-on projects directly improving the public hunting experience and the well-being of ducks.

We serve as a conduit—focusing on relationships, coordination, and collaboration. We foster dialogue among hunters, landowners, government agencies such as the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, scientists, and local communities, highlighting the shared heritage, economy, and ecology of our region.

We are not political, have no enemies, and strive to be friends with everyone. We find it exciting to get real work done in the field, where progress is visible and shared. Looking ahead, we are scaling our efforts through stronger relationships, clearer communication, broader education, and greater leverage—developing projects that directly benefit public-land duck hunters and the places we all depend on.

We bring big players and everyday people to the same table to work on simple, meaningful projects. We represent both heart and professionalism: a 501(c)(3) rooted in hunters and citizens who believe stewardship of our public lands is both our responsibility and our opportunity.
